# Proof of Solvency

## Introduction

Unlike the majority of stablecoins protocols, Monet doesn't rely on multisigs or MCP vaults for its backing management but on onchain & permissionless smart contracts called [Monetizer Module](/products/how-it-works/monetizer-module.md). The [Monetizer Module](/products/how-it-works/monetizer-module.md) is handling mint, burn & redeem operations within approved parameters, you can learn more about it [here](/products/how-it-works/monetizer-module.md). Users, keepers and anyone can freely interact with the backing of Monet Stablecoins without any cooldown.

Protocol contributors do not have access to Monet stablecoins backing. Moreover the backing is held entirely onchain.
